Landscaping brief – an invitation to quote for the following specific tasks: 1. Build a retaining wall around the perimeter of the outer garden using reclaimed 2.6m hardwood railway sleepers a. The majority of the wall will be 5 sleepers high c. 18m in length b. The height will be approx 1.25m to align with the top of the mound of earth c. The sleeper wall will reduce from 5 sleepers high to 4-3-2-1 alongside the driveway i.e. a stepping effect is required (total distance c. 10m) d. The sleepers will be stacked width high i.e. their 25cm face showing e. The sleepers will be supplied by ourselves f. To secure the wall from the front, the posts will also be the reclaimed sleepers (these may have to be cut to required length) g. The post holes will be at least 1m deep h. The post holes will have gravel at the bottom (for drainage & to allow adjustment of height) i. Once aligned the posts will be concreted in place j. The concrete will be allowed to set completely prior to the next stage k. The bottom sleepers of the stack of 5 will be drilled and bolted to the posts l. The other sleepers will be nailed into position m. The trench behind the sleeper wall will be backfilled n. Level the area behind the wall and on the mound 2. Build a small c. 5m sloping concrete retaining wall a. A concrete wall is required where the diggers accessed the garden b. The wall goes from the first ‘good’ non-cracked flag to the beginning corner of the patio c. The concrete wall slopes to join the patio (mirroring the concrete retaining wall on the other side of the driveway) Please quote separately for both elements 1 & 2 so we can see the breakdown Payment will be made in cash on completion of the job to required above specification
