Hi, I live in a small flat in East London, and would like to rip out my existing kitchen and have a new one built.
The existing kitchen is L-shaped, in one corner of the room, and I would like to keep this format, but re-build the carcass, cabinets, etc so that it better fits my needs. I've uploaded photos of the current kitchen, but here is a description of what it's like currently:
At the moment, the kitchen has wooden supports, with half of the worktop (the left-hand part of the 'L') stainless steel, and the other half wood. There is a stainless steel splashback above the worktop. On the left-hand part of the 'L' I have a free-standing fridge freezer (which I'll be keeping), then the kitchen worktop. The unit does not house cupboards, it's just a shell - the two stainless steel cabinet doors house the washing machine and the sink (underneath which I have the bin and cleaning products). On the right-hand part of the 'L', there is a very small wooden drawer unit, then the oven. Next to the oven the worktop extends another 51.5 cm, but there is no cupboard underneath it - the previous owners put their tumble drier there. I don't have a tumble drier, so I have put a free-standing wooden cupboard there instead. This is my only cupboard space! On the wall are three shelves and a draining rack.
I have uploaded some photos, but the dimensions are:
* Outer part of the L - 174cm x 201cm
* Inner part of the L - 110cm x 136cm
* Height - 94cm
* Depth (stainless steel worktop) - 65cm
* Depth (wooden worktop) - 64cm
What I would like is as follows:
* Wall cabinets across the entire length of the left-hand wall (although I will be keeping the fridge-freezer, so the cabinets would have to fit around it) - please note that this is a stud wall
* Wooden worktop
* I will be keeping the washing machine where it is, so I would just need a cabinet built around it
* The exisiting sink will be replaced with a new butlers sink (I will provide this), and I would like a cupboard underneath it
* The right hand part of the 'L' should have a slim drawer unit on the left
* I will be buying a new combined oven-and-dishwasher, which will need to be connected/ plumbed in
* I would like a small cupboard underneath the oven
* Next to the oven I would like a proper fitted cupboard, with an option to pull out/lift up an additional piece of worktop, so I can increase my worktop space if needed
* The exisiting splashback to be removed and the walls to be tiled (I will provide the tiles)
* I am happy to paint the cupboards once they are installed, but I won't be providing the cupboard / cabinet doors, so they will need to be made
So in summary -
What I will provide:
* Tiles
* New sink and taps
* New oven/dishwasher combo
* Painting
* Extractor fan (I will be keeping the current one)
* Worktop if necessary
What will need to be made/ provided:
* Cabinet and cupboard carcasses
* Cabinet and cupboard doors
Thanks!
