Ceiling Artex Removal

Moving into a house constructed in 1999 with artex ceilings throughout and wanted to remove this and replace with a smooth ceiling in the lounge (16'4" x 12'10"), and possibly hallway (dimensions unknown) depending on the cost. Note: as we have not done anything like this before, we're not sure about our desired budget.
