I'm looking to chase some speaker cables into my living room wall (depth of around 40mm I would think). Wall construction looks like aggregate. I have already attempted this myself and filled but I'm looking for a better finish then what I can do as I intend to paint over the wall once finished. One slight complication is the cable housing on one side as the speaker sits to the left of a power outlet and a telephone outlet so either the cabling has to go behind the housing or the lines to the outlets will need to be relocated.
Once chased, I will need the chased cables finished with plaster.
Also, I have constructed a false wall which hides the entry point of the cables so the total area which needs chasing would only be very small (40 - 50 cm each side) so its not a huge job.
Finally, I may look to chase cables at the side and rear of the living room. Wouldn't need to be so deep - probably around 20mm max including trunking and a height of 1 meter for two of the cables at the rear and around 180mm for the cables at the side. One of these side cables will be on a stud partition wall but the rest would be aggregate / breeze block.
Looking to have the job done around mid-January.
