Electrical Fault - no lights.

After working normally the downstairs lights at our house were switched off for about 10mins and wouldn't switch back on again. Infact none of the lights downstairs work. The mains Fusebox was checked for any tripped fuses. None found. The switchable fuse for the downstairs light circuit was located and switched OFF and ON. When switching ON the downstairs hallway light which had been left in on came ON and immediately went OFF. This however did not result in the fuse tripping. Problem needs to be resolved asap
