We have purchased a ceiling fan (44") for our bedroom on a 4th floor flat. Weight of the fan is 10kg (instructions say it must be fixed to something which can hold 100kg). We had hoped to install the fan in the centre of the room using the existing light fitting however there does not appear to be a joist directly above the light fitting and we are unclear where the nearest joist is situated. There is a wood panel above the light fitting (which appears to have been put there to support lighting) however we suspect this would not be strong enough to hold the ceiling fan. We therefore need advice on where the fan can be installed and we may need some re-wiring (although we hope this will not be necessary). We then need the fan installing.
We also need some wiring to be run through under the carpets of our living room from our TV & stereo around to the back wall for 2 x back speakers which will be fixed into the wall. This should be no more than 20 metres of wiring.
We have posted previously for this job without success and are keen to have this completed as soon as possible.
