Fit electric shower switch in cupboard at other side of wall from bathroom

I have a pull cord style shower switch in my bathroom, but due to moisture getting into it I'm looking to change it to a switch style. The job entails drilling a hole in the cupboard in the living room (through the wall from the bathroom) to pull through the wires and fit a switch. The wires may need extending slightly in length to fit through to the cupboard. The wall is fairly solid as it's an old sandstone tenement flat.
