We have a detached brick garage which we would like to convert into a living space. It is a solid structure with a great roof peaked and tiled roof, and an existing electrical supply. It has a close to a water supply from the main house but it currently does not have running water independently. We hope to fit a small kitchen and bathroom so we would need running water connected. I think the main work would be:
• Insulation and finish to the structure internally (eg skimming brickwork for smooth internal finish)
• Connection of water to the structure
• Division of space into three rooms (for a bathroom, study, small kitchen/living space) so a few small internal walls would be required.
• Bricking up large garage door entry and replacing with standard entry door and small window if possible
• Replacing existing side door and window
We will not need the bathroom or kitchen fitted, just for the structure to be up to standard building conditions internally and segregated into rooms. We are looking for rough estimates for the work to take place as soon as possible. It’s larger than a normal single garage, but it’s not a double, I’ll find out exact dimensions and pass them on to any interested parties. Many thanks.
