Gas pipe replacement between meter and boiler

Gas pressure is too low at boiler (14mbs when hot tap on full, should be at least 18mbs). Boiler engineer has recommended at least first 10 feet of pipe is replaced between meter and boiler as likely to be old/narrow pipes as pressure is fine at meter. also to fit automatic bypass onto boiler (glow-worm betacom 30c). Work to be conducted ASAP due to a 3 month old needing hot water!!
