I have a flat in Aberdeen which previously (sometime before I bought it) had an Economy 7 meter and storage heater circuit. The meter must have then been changed out for a standard prepay meter. The storage heaters themselves are still in place and have been wired into the ring main but the timer unit has never worked.
I now want to reinstate the storage heaters and have requested that SSE provide a new Economy 7 meter. I need an electrician to reinstate the storage heater circuits. The work would involve:
-installing the new mini DB for the storage heater circuits (I have already provided the mini DB and two MCBs) and verify that the MCBs are suitable for the application;
-installing two new 16A timers (I have also provided these, one for each of the two heaters);
-termination of cables for the storage heater circuit at the loads, timers and mini DB;
- installation of one additional double socket in the ring main;
- testing and certification as necessary (I'm not sure if a minor electrical certificate will cover the work or a full EIC is required).
Please note I have already purchased and ran in cables where necessary (the building is an old tenement so I thought that I would take on the hassle of routing the cables myself).
