Project 1. A shoe and small vacuum cleaner cupboard with door to be fitted under the stairs. At present the stairs are open underneath - the cupboard would be approximately 800 mm wide, as deep as the underside of the stairs, and would have a triagular door to accommodate the slope of the stairs.
The outer side of the cupboard facing the understairs area would ideally be finished in plaster board and have a skirting so that it fits in with the rest of the finishes and lines.
Project 2. A shallow (250 mm approx deep) full height (2300 mm high) cupboard approximately 800 mm wide to be fitted in the downstairs cloak room. It will act as storage for an ironing board and cleaning materials. It will be in front of the w.c so the cupboard door will not be able to open from the floor but from about 450 mm above floor level. The lower part which cannot be accessed by the cupboard door might have a side door or be floored off.
There is a waste pipe which cuts across the wall at what will be the back of the cupboard. This will need to be accommodated.
The cupboard can be faced in ply or MDF both inside and out as it will be painted.
