In our living room we have a 'fireplace' type brick structure that used to house an old boiler. It no longer does, there is nothing above it on the 2nd floor of our house - so as far as I'm aware it does not support the upper floor. It measures 16 * 41 inches. It does have an electric plug in it that'll need relocating. We want it removed, electric plug rehomed, and the wall plastered so you don't know it's gone!
Additionally we have a 8ft (by 9inch) brick wall in the same room that we want knocked down. You would need to check it is not supporting but we are in a row of terraced houses and x2 other houses have knocked this wall down without the need for RSJ's. However we would want this verified. A radiator would need moving and an electric socket.
lastly should it be possible we'd like the staircase that would be exposed from knocking the wall down 'walled' in (slim plasterboard) and a door put in.
We'd need the ceiling replastering (just the bit from the knocked down wall).
my guess is 2-3 days work max.
Looking early Jan.
