A previous 'builder' put in the hot water cylinder and the waste pipes for 3 toilets and 2 showers in the attic space.
The final 18-24 inches of waste pipework, just before it drops to the ground floor level, is a flexible 'corrugated' pipe.
Because the fall upstairs is quite slow - any solids from the toilets tends to get backlogged on the corrugated section.
The reason the corrugated section was put in is because the hot water cylinder pipes are in such a position the regular rigid pipes wont fit under.
What is needed then, is the hot water cylinder to be raised about 4-6 inches and the corrugated waste pipe replaced with the traditional rigid kind.
In raising the cylinder the various pipes off it will need to be altered too.
