Paint sash windows

I have 3 single sash windows and 1 triple sash window that need painting inside and out on the first floor of a terrace house. The windows have been professionally refirbished and primed in grey. I now want a topcoat of white gloss. Dont know if one coat will suffice or wheather they need another prime in white before topcoat.
