Painting & varnishing bannisters

We have a bannister reaching from an upstairs room to a loft area. The bannister and railings are currently just bare wood. We would like the bannister and railings to be painted gloss white and the hand rail to be varnished. We would also like out front door to be stripped and painted gloss black
