Radiators noisy when heating up, some not heating up

Our radiators are driving us mad! As they heat up there is a click click sound being made. We think it might be where they are rubbing against the floor boards. The noise can be stopped by holding or applying slight pressure to the rads. Also some of the radiators don't warm up properly. i.e. Really hot upstairs, downstairs some are warm, some are hot, some are cold. We need someone to resolving the clicking and give me back my sanity, and resolve the uneven heating as well.
