remove and replace artex style ceiling in 3m x 5m lounge

Lounge ceiling has an artex style coating with an overall stippled effect. an area which was damaged by water in the past. it is now degrading and probably can't be patched. therefore we think the best route is to remove the existing coating and replace with something similar. the house dates from mid 1980s & we are not sure if the coating is artex or not. the room is approximately 3m by 5m. there is a light fitting in the centre of the ceiling the budget subject to negotiation
