Remove covering to fireplace

I have a fireplace which is currently covered over by tiles. It has a wooden screw-on type surround/mantelpiece. I have tried to get this off by taking out the screws, but it seems cemented into place. I would like this, and the tiles, removed so I can decided what to replace them with. Please only contact me/quote if you are serious about doing the work. It's a small job.
