Replastering Ceiling

The cold water storage in my loft leaked whem we were away and has come through the ceiling just in our back bedroom. It has only stained and brought down a small area of the ceiling - but I think the whole ceiling will need re-skimming / plastering otherwise it will look a little odd. Room size is about 8ft x 10ft. I guess depending on the price will be whether I claim it on my insurance or not.
