shorten gas pipe

shorten a pre existing gas pipe approx 30cm to make room for an inbuilt electric oven. The gas pipe will then be connected to a flexible hose going to the gas hob. This appears to be a fairly simple and straight forward job which I would do myself but do not have the appropriate tools.
